About the role

The Computer Vision Engineer will be responsible for developing, training, and optimizing algorithms for detecting and estimating the three-dimensional pose of objects. The goal is to enable the system to understand the position and orientation of objects in space by integrating computer vision models with real-time applications on robots or edge systems. The candidate will work closely with the software and hardware teams to implement efficient solutions in Python, preferably optimized for execution on GPUs or edge devices.

Technical skills required

  • Programming: Object-oriented programming in Python (mandatory); knowledge of C++ is a plus.
  • CV and DL frameworks: PyTorch or TensorFlow, OpenCV.
  • Specific experience: 3D object pose estimation, point cloud processing.
  • Specific experience: Neural networks for detection and localization (e.g., YOLO, RFDetr, DiffusionModels).
  • Optimization and inference: TensorRT, ONNX, or deployment on GPU/edge devices.
  • Version control and collaboration: Git, GitHub/GitLab.
  • Development: Familiarity with Docker, knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably Google Vertex AI).

Nice to have

  • Camera testing and calibration: knowledge of intrinsic/extrinsic calibration techniques and camera parameter validation.
  • Experience with multi-camera or RGB-D systems (e.g., Intel RealSense, ZED, or similar).
  • Experience with VLM, VLA applied in robotics.
  • Familiarity with ROS/ROS2.

  • Location: Milan / Carate Brianza (MB)
  • Smart Working: Available (e.g., 1 day/week, subject to team policy)
