About the role
We are seeking a motivated Network & Cybersecurity Specialist to join our dynamic team in Carate Brianza. This position is ideal for a junior-level applicant with a strong interest in both networking and security, or a more experienced professional looking to apply their expertise in a hybrid role.
You will be instrumental in managing, securing, and optimizing our complex network infrastructure, spanning on-premises, edge, and cloud environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to build your expertise across both network engineering and cybersecurity, ensuring the resilience, performance, and integrity of our internal systems and customer deployments.
Key responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and maintain on-premise, edge, and cloud network infrastructure.
- Administer and fine-tune firewalls, load balancers, and VPN tunnels to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor network health, troubleshoot connectivity (TCP/IP, routing, etc.), and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and manage network security policies, procedures, and controls.
- Oversee the lifecycle of SSL/TLS certificates, including procurement, installation, and renewal.
- Assist in the management of identity and access management (IAM) solutions and protocols (e.g., OAuth2.0).
- Collaborate with development and robotics teams to define and implement secure network solutions.
- Travel to customer sites (up to 15%) for on-site installation and troubleshooting of issues not resolvable remotely.
- Document network configurations, security standards, and troubleshooting procedures.
Required qualifications
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including the TCP/IP suite, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
- Hands-on experience with (or strong knowledge of) firewall and load balancing concepts.
- A demonstrable passion for cybersecurity and a strong desire to grow skills in identity management, secure protocols, and network hardening.
- Familiarity with or interest in managing SSL/TLS certificates.
- Knowledge of or interest in identity protocols like OAuth2.0.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Mandatory: Ability to work on-site at our Carate Brianza headquarters as per the hybrid model (4 days on-site, 1 day remote).
- Mandatory: Willingness and ability to travel nationally to customer sites, up to 15% of the time.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with packet tracing and traffic analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark) for network optimization.
- Previous experience with MikroTik RouterOS and/or Barracuda firewalls.
- Experience working in on-premise, air-gapped, or isolated network environments.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking (VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor).
- Experience with Google Cloud SecOps.
- Familiarity with GCP Identity and Access Management (IAM) or other cloud-based identity solutions.
- Experience with identity management platforms like Keycloak.
